- Regular meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month (unless Legal Holiday) at 7:30 p.m.
- Sign in at the door, Last Name then First Name
- Dues are currently $40.00 per year, due and payable on January 1st. You may not attend a meeting or participate in activities until your dues are paid, and can be paid before the meeting starts. You are delinquent if your dues have not been paid by January 31st, are subject to a delinquent fee if paying in February and your name will be removed from the roster and membership dropped if not paid by February 28th. No invoices will be mailed and it is not the responsibility of the Auxiliary to notify you in any way that dues are due. It is your responsibility to keep your membership current. Dues will not be collected at dinners or functions.
- Members must stand when speaking in a meeting. There are 40 to 50 members attending meetings and it is impossible for everyone in the room to hear what is being said when the member does not stand while speaking. This is covered in Section 10, Addressing the Chair, in the By-Laws.
- No beverages (alcohol or other) shall be purchased during the meeting. Get your drinks ahead of time. Coffee and refreshments are served before the meeting.
- No Smoking will be permitted anywhere inside the club. If we are having a meeting or function (hot dog roast, clam bake, etc.) outside, there is no smoking in the immediate area of the meeting or function.
- Election of Officers is held on the First Thursday in October. New officers are installed at the Annual Dinner which is held the second (2nd) Thursday in October. Members attending 18 meetings during the course of the year will pay half price for the dinner.
The Standing Committees of this Auxiliary shall consist of:
- Flowers: sent to sick or grieving members
- · Cards: sent to sick, grieving and nursing home members.
- · Refreshments: assigned by table. Table brings refreshments for the 2 meetings of the month.
- · Entertainment: things to do after meetings such as Bingo, Speakers, Games, etc.
- · Special Entertainment: Special Events such as dances, dinners.
- · Nominating: new officer nominations. Chairperson is the immediate Past President.
- · Welcome: welcome new members, present new members to the meeting.
- · Mates Log: Auxiliary emails and postcards
- · Fish Pool: $5 to join, allows member to weigh in any qualifying fish during the fishing season.
- · Photographer: takes pictures during events and shares with membership, makes display for Bulletin Board.
- · Kitchen Supplies: makes sure there are supplies for serving refreshments.
- · Life Member Chairperson (Chairperson must be a Life Member)
- · Sunshine: attendance checking, making sure everyone has signed into the meeting for attendance credit. 50 cents to enter the $5.00 attendance prize raffle.
- · Special Raffle: Dark Horse- one prize, Special Raffle – three prizes
- · Dot’s Can is a collection of loose change at each meeting that is used to buy special gifts for someone or a family in need. Usually at Christmas time. Can is located by the sign-in book.
- · IT: Designs and maintains Auxiliary Website snbcaux.com.
- · Fish Pool cost is $5 to join in the Spring. The bartenders will weigh in any qualifying fish and record it on the Auxiliary Fish Pool Board. Sign up is at the bar. Prizes are awarded to the winners for each category.
- · Birthday Box: member puts $1.00 in birthday box at the first meeting attended after having a birthday. The money is used for desserts at the Holiday Party.
- · Access Key Cards: every member in good standing receives a card that will open all doors, including the front door, of the club. These key cards can only be obtained at a meeting and must be signed for. If a member falls out of good standing, the key will be turned off and access cannot be obtained with the card. Member must notify the Auxiliary immediately if the card is lost so it can be disabled. A new key will be issued for a fee $25.00 ($15.00 for loss and $10.00 replacement cost).
- · Members of the Auxiliary are required to sign the book in the bar unless they are a spouse of a current or deceased member of the SNBC. Mothers, daughters, sisters, etc. must sign the book. This is a liquor law, not a club law. Failure to do so could jeopardize the liquor license of the club.
- · New Membership applications are read at 2 meetings. After the 2nd reading a vote is taken. Voting process is white ball or black ball. White ball = YES, Black ball = NO. Anyone voting a black ball must give an explanation to the board why the applicant should not be a member.
- · Refreshments: People usually sit at the same table in the same seat every meeting. (This is NOT a requirement). Refreshments are assigned by table. Each table brings refreshments for the two meetings of their month. We make the coffee out at the bar using all of the club's supplies. We set up the refreshment tables with the cups, plates and utensils that we get from the Auxiliary closet. The President has the key for this closet. Refreshment table is set up before the meeting and put away and cleaned up after the meeting.
Examples of some Auxiliary functions that we may have:
- · The annual Clam Bake out at the Tiki Bar. Fish Pool Committee awards prizes to the winners of the previous season of fishing. Auxiliary members are invited to join the Fish Pool for $5.00 and weigh in any fish caught during the season and have it recorded on our board.
- · March/April: Pancake Breakfast fundraiser
- August: The first meeting is our Clam Bake held outside at the Tiki Bar (weathering permitting). Members pay $25.00 and the Auxiliary may supplement the rest. This is held before the regular meeting and participation is optional. The second meeting is our annual Hot Dog Roast. This is held outside at the Tiki Bar (weather permitted) and members of sister club Auxiliaries are in invited to attend. We share new ideas, club successes and failures, and support each other. It has become a very popular event.
- September: Refreshments are provided by the Board. The first meeting is Pizza. We also may run a dance as a fundraiser during this month.
- October: is election month. Elections are the first meeting. The Annual Dinner for the installation of new officers is the second Thursday of the month. New officers start their term and run the second meeting of the month. Members attending 18 meetings during the course of the year pay ½ price of their dinner at the Annual Dinner.
- December: is our annual Christmas party run by a committee each year. It is the committee’s choice as to where and what it is. Birthday box money buys the desserts for this event.
